Link your Voter ID with Aadhaar Card online: Recently, the Cabinet passed a bill concerning electoral reforms. As part of these reforms, Indian citizens can now link their voter ID card with Aadhar number. This will dispense with the need for citizens to carry voter ID cards for voting during elections and will also reduce the state’s burden on issuing replacements for lost or damaged voter ID cards.
Who is Eligible?
As per existing laws, all Indian citizens who hold a voter ID card and an Aadhar card are eligible to link the two.
The facility is not available if you don’t hold a voter ID card. If you’ve just completed 18 years of age or don’t have a voter ID card, you can avail of the four annual registration drives conducted by the election commission to get a voter ID.
However, if you don’t have a voter ID card because it was lost or damaged but have the Electoral Photo ID Card (EPIC) number, it is still possible to link your voter ID card with your Aadhar card online.
You can also link your voter ID card with Aadhar card if you’ve received the EPIC number from the Election Commission, even if you’re yet to receive the physical card.

Step 1: Visit the National Voters Service Portal on https://voterportal.eci.gov.in
Step 2: Here, you have to key in your mobile number and request a One Time Password (OTP)
Step 3: Verify your mobile number using the OTP
Step 4: You will be asked to create a unique password
Step 5: Repeat the password
Step 6: The screen will show that you’re successfully registered on the portal.

Step 1: Login through the portal using mobile number
Step 2: Provide your email ID, voter ID number and Aadhaar number
Step 3: Mention your state, district ,full name, date of birth and father’s name.
Step 4: Click ‘Search’ to ensure that the details such as your voter ID number, name and father’s name, district and state match.
Step 5: Click on ‘Feed Aadhaar No’ link available on the left side of the screen.
Step 6: Here you have to fill in your name as shown on the Aadhaar card, Aadhaar number, voter ID number, registered mobile number and or registered email address.
Step 7: Click ‘Verify’ to ensure that all details are correct.
Step 8: Click ‘Submit’
A message stating that your application is registered successful will appear on the screen.
