As part of its efforts to provide online services such as issuance of certificates, the Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency (TNeGA) has launched the E-Sevai portal. There Are as many as 92 different services that you can avail from TN E-Sevai portal, including some of the most common documents and certificates. Additionally, you can also avail these services from Common Service Centres (CSCs) across Tamil Nadu.

In this article, I will guide you in simple steps, how to register for E-Sevai services, apply for various certificates, check your application status and verify the documents online.

Services available at TN E Sevai Portal

There Are strong reasons why you should register on the E-Sevai portal. As a matter of fact, your registration can help you avail of a lot of services from the Tamil Nadu state government without leaving the comfort of your home or office.

How to do TN e-Registration

How to Register for TN e-Sevai - TN e-Sevai login

Here’re the steps to register on TN e-Sevai portal. These are fairly simple steps and you can easily create own account on TN e-Sevai.

  • Visit the TN E-Sevai portal
  • Go to the Login section
  • You will come across two different options: One is to login or create a new account. The second one is to login with your mobile number

You can use any of these two options to avail of services through the TN E-Sevai portal.

Logging in with Mobile Number

If you wish to login with your mobile number, it is not necessary to register on the E-Sevai portal. Simply follow these steps:

  • Visit the TN E-Sevai portal
  • Click on the Login with Mobile Number link
  • On the next page, enter your 10-digit mobile number
  • Press ‘Generate OTP’
  • The portal will send an OTP to your mobile number
  • Key in the OTP and submit
  • Go to the Services section on E-Sevai
  • Select the service you require and fill in the relevant details such as name, address, Aadhar card number etc.
  • Click ‘Submit’
  • You will receive an SMS confirming that you’ve applied for that service, along with a reference number

Registering on E-Sevai Portal

  • Key in your full name, as it appears on your Aadhar card or any other identity document issued by the government.
  • Select the district where you live.
  • Select the Taluka where you live.
  • Submit your Aadhar card number.
  • Submit your mobile phone number
  • Create a user name
  • Create a password
  • Repeat the password
  • Fill the captcha code

When you click the Submit button, the portal will ask whether you agree to Aadhar verification of your credentials. If you agree, a One Time Password will be sent to your mobile number registered with Aadhar. Key in this OTP to complete your registration.

Logging On to TN E-Sevai

Upon successful registration, you will receive an SMS on your mobile phone. The screen on the portal will also show that your registration is successful.

Here, it’s important to remember the user name and password. That’s because the TN e_Sevai registration is linked to your Aadhar and you cannot create a second account.

To log in to the TN e-Sevai portal, simply key in your user name and password.

The website will display details of the 92 services that you can avail through the e-Sevai portal.

Select the service you wish to avail and apply online.

Reset Forgot Password

Step1: Visit the official website of TN E-Sevai

Step2: On the homepage, Click on Citizen Login

Step3: Click on Forgot password

Step4: Select Search method: search by Login, Mobile number, email id,aadhar card

Step5: Enter relevant details and click on search

Step6: Details of account linked will be displayed on the Screen

Know Forgot username

Step1: Visit the official website of TN E-Sevai

Step2: On the homepage, Click on Citizen Login

Step3: Click on Forgot Username

Step4: Now Select Search method: search by Login, Mobile number, email id, aadhar card

Step5: Enter relevant details and click on search

Step6: Details of account linked will be displayed on the Screen

How to Apply Online for Services on TN E-Sevai

There are many services available on the TN E-Sevai portal, citizen can apply for any of the services online by following the steps below:

Step1: Citizen has to visit the TN E-Sevai portal and Login in

Step2: Click on the dashboard, click on Services

Step3: There will be four options: 1.Department 2.Service  3.Search 4.Public

Step4: Search Service for which you want to apply

Step5: Click on Service.

Step6: A new pop Window will be opened

Step7: Fill the required details, pay the fee, upload documents

Step8: Click ‘Submit’ to forward your application

How to Apply for Certificates on TN-e-Sevai Portal

The citizens of Tamil Nadu can apply for certificates online on the TN E-Sevai portal. Now Application for Income, Community, unemployment Certificate can be filed online on the TN e Sevai Portal. 

Step1: Visit the Official website of TN E-Sevai

Step2: Login using Username and password

Step3: Click on Services, Under the Department of Revenue Certificate like community certificate, income certificates are available.

Step4: Click on the certificate which you want to apply for

Step5: Fill the necessary details, upload supporting documents and pay the fees online

Step6: After Successful completion of Application and fee payment. Do take a printout of the Payment receipt and Application Form for future reference

Check Status of Certificate on TN-e-Sevai Portal

Now People can check the Status of Applications online on the Tn e sevai portal.

Step1: Open TN E-Sevai website TN E-Sevai.tn.gov.in

Step2: Login using id and password

step3: on the Dashboard, click on check status

Step4: You can search status using the application number or transaction number

Step5: Enter your Application or transaction number and click on the Fetch button

Step6: Status of Application will be displayed on the screen. you can download the certificate by clicking on the link

Verify Certificate Online

To Verify certificate issued by the TN E-Sevai or CSC follow the instructions below:

Step1: Visit Edistrict Tamil Nadu website https://tnedistrict.tn.gov.in

Step2: On the homepage, click on Verify Certificate

Step3: Enter your Application number

Step4: Now Detailed status of the Application number will be displayed on the screen. You can either download or take a printout of the Certificate

Locate Nearest CSC on TN E-Sevai Portal

Citizens can also apply for services of TN E-Sevai in nearest CSC Kendra, to Locate the nearest CSCs follow these steps:

Step1: Visit the TN E-Sevai Portal

Step2: Now Click on About us

Step3: Click on the Locate CSC link

Step4: Select your District and Taluk

Step5: All the CSCs in your area will be displayed on the screen
